In the recent years, I have been doing my part in saving the earth. Yes I know, what can a small tiny dot in the universe do to make a difference, but if everyone thinks that way, no change will ever happen, right?
I do my own part: from segregating our trash at home, bringing my own shopping bag whenever I can, refusing plastic bags with every purchase, retweeting green tips I find on Twitter, to sharing innovating ideas on Facebook. Heck, I’m even planning on starting a podcast, and the environment would be one of the many topics I would touch on. I’m also planning to produce some earth friendly shopping bags.
Seeing how powerful social media is and how free and accessible it is to everyone, why not use my own video blog to try and help?
I saw this 2 features on TV last year, and I just wanted to share it with everyone.
The first is about a guy called “Demi, The Solar Guy” who resides in a small town in Laguna, a province here in the Philippines. He makes his own mark by creating a “solar bulb” for the residents of his town. See how he makes a difference and maybe you can help him do more.
The second video is a feature on CNN on a company in the USA called Terra Cycle, who recycles everything from old flip flops. wads of gum, to used diapers.
Hopefully these videos will spark some interest in you, and maybe you can make a difference too. No matter how big or small.
